Archroma is headquartered in Reinach near Basel, Switzerland, and operates with approximately 3000 employees over 35 countries and 25 production sites. The company operates with three Businesses: Brand & Performance Textile Specialties, Packaging & Paper Specialties and Coatings, Adhesives & Sealants, which are managed from Singapore, Switzerland and Brazil respectively.

Alexander Wessels
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Alexander “Xander” Wessels is at the helm of Archroma since its beginning in October 2013, bringing along 25 years of chemical, pharmaceutical and process industry experience.
Before joining Archroma, Mr Wessels spent 7 years at Royal DSM NV, where his last position was President and CEO of DSM Pharmaceutical Products, a global pharmaceutical ingredients and contract manufacturing organization.
Previously, he held various management and executive positions at Unilever, Quest International, ICI, and as Executive Committee Member of Campina.
A Dutch native, Mr Wessels has lived and worked in a number of countries around the globe. He brought to Archroma an impressive track record of driving improved business performance, disciplined growth on a global scale and the implementation of strategic initiatives focused on high growth economies, innovation and sustainable solutions.
Mr Wessels holds an MSc in Molecular Sciences from Wageningen University in the Netherlands, and both an MSM and MBA from the Krannert Business School of Purdue University in the United States and Tilburg University, in the Netherlands.

Roland Waibel
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Roland Waibel is CFO of Archroma since its beginning in October 2013.
He has more than 25 years of global and diverse chemical and process industry experience, having held key financial and executive leadership roles at both publicly listed and privately owned companies.
Mr Waibel possesses significant experience in business process/change management and has led global business services organizations including IT, corporate development and shared services.
Before joining Archroma, Mr Waibel was Chief Financial Officer and a Member of the Executive Board at Omya Management AG, a privately owned, global producer of specialty materials. Previously, he held the position of Group CFO at Lonza Group AG, a publicly traded global producer of organic and fine chemicals.

Stephan Sielaff
Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Stephan Sielaff joined Archroma in February 2014, bringing significant, diverse and global materials and process industry expertise.
Before joining Archroma, Mr Sielaff spent 8 years with Symrise, lastly as the Senior Vice President Global Operations of the Flavor & Nutrition business. There he was overseeing the complete global supply chain operations, which he developed and implemented for 26 sites in 20 countries.
Previously, Mr Sielaff held various roles in supply chain, innovation and engineering, as well as marketing at Unilever.
Mr Sielaff has a MS, Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Dortmund, Germany.

Hans Lourens
General Counsel

Hans Lourens joined Archroma in October 2013 with 15 years of in-house legal counsel experience.
Mr Lourens has significant expertise in the drafting and negotiation of contracts, the structuring and implementation of legal policies/guidelines and working with boards of directors to provide legal guidance on international transactions to include M&A, commercial agreements, strategic alliances and joint ventures.
Mr Lourens held a number of executive leadership positions including Director, Corporate Affairs and General Counsel at Campina, a $5 billion privately held organization, and Royal Gist Brocades where he played a lead role in the sale of the company to DSM N.V.

Marcos Furrer
President Brand & Performance Textile Specialties

Marcos Furrer joined Archroma in February 2018. With a 20 years career, Mr Furrer has earned a strong reputation as a well-rounded business manager with excellent leadership skills and a taste for working as a team towards delivering ambitious targets. A Chemical Engineer from the Ingenieurschule Beider Basel, Mr Furrer started his career with Clariant in Switzerland as Product Manager Sulphur Dyes in 1997. He then grew in the organization as Head of Continuous Dyeing Cellulosic (1999 to 2001); Head of BU Textile Dyes and Textile Chemicals in México (2001 to 2005); Global Head for the Product Group Cellulosic Dyes (2005 to 2007), Head of BU Textile Chemicals Latin America (2007 to 2009); Head of BU Textile Chemicals Americas (2009 to 2012); Head of Emulsions (January 2012 to June 2012); and Head of Marketing and Sales Plastic and Special Applications, BU Pigments (January 2013 to 2015). His latest role as Head of RBL Europe BU Pigments, Strategic Plastics, brought him back to Switzerland in January 2015, with the mission to implement the new BU Pigments regional structure in Europe. Mr Furrer speaks 5 languages: English, German, Spanish, Portuguese and French.

Valerie Diele-Braun joined Archroma in early 2014 as Head of Strategic Marketing. She became President Paper Solutions and EMEA in August 2014, and she was appointed President Paper Solutions & Emulsion Products in August 2015.
Prior to joining Archroma, Ms. Diele-Braun was Head of Sales and Product Management for the Personal Care Division of DSM Nutritional Products. Previously, she was Managing Director of her own consulting company, focusing on delivering world-class strategies for B2B and B2C clients.
Earlier in her career she held the post of Vice President Global Key Account Management for Quest International which later became part of Givaudan.

Miguel de Bellis joined Archroma as President Emulsion Products and Americas in April 2014. He is President Region Americas since August 2015.
He joined from Endura Partners, a management consulting company operating in LATAM.
Before that, Miguel de Bellis worked for most of his career with Croda in Brazil, where his last appointment was President Specialities Latin America. Earlier in his career, he held several sales and marketing positions in Brazil and in South America.
A Brazilian National, Miguel de Bellis holds a Degree in Business Administration from FMU Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas.

Michel Zumstein
President Region Asia

Michel Zumstein started his career with Sandoz in 1993 as Corporate Internal Auditor and has developed through his 25 years of working in Europe and Asia, in corporate and operational, global and regional Finance roles, into a seasoned finance all-rounder with in-depth understanding of the specifics of our businesses and of the challenges of our industry. More recently, Michel had been instrumental in establishing our finance services and processes as Head of Group Finance & Controlling until May 2015. As Head of Group Controlling since May 2015, he helped to drive business/financial performance management in Archroma.
In February 2018, Mr Zumstein was appointed in his current role as President Region Asia, member of the Leadership Team of Archroma.
A French National, Mr Zumstein graduated from ESSEC Business School in Paris, France, and has a PhD in Political Science from the University of Strasbourg, France.

Beate Plueckhan
President Region Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA)

Beate Plueckhan is President Region EMEA, since September 2016.
She started her career with Hoechst in Frankfurt, Germany. In 1997, she joined Clariant, when Clariant acquired Hoechst’s textile chemicals business. There she gathered in-depth experience in marketing and sales roles, including as Head of Global Marketing, Apparel & Interior, from 2005 to 2010, as well as Head of Sales roles in regional or sub-regional areas in Europe.
In 2013, Ms Plueckhan joined Archroma when the company acquired Clariant’s textile business. She was appointed as Head of Sales, Cluster Europe, Textile Specialties Business, in August 2015, and Head of Sales Textile Specialties and Emulsion Products for DACHEE in January 2016, a position she has held with success until being appointed to her current role.
Ms. Plueckhan holds a Diploma in Textile Engineering from Fachhochschule Kaiserslautern, Germany.
