Ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience in creating and enforcing policies for effective Global Master Data Management (GMDM). Formulating management techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data. Devising and implementing efficient and secure procedures for data management standarization, structure, governance and analysis with attention to all functional and technical aspects. This challenging position will have the responsibility to set up the GMDM governance and processes globally. The successful candidate will report to Business Process Excellence and collaborates with various senior stakeholders across the organization.

Job Description

The GMDM leader is responsible for the standardization of data structures, governance and tool

  • Drive standardizing Master Data Management (MDM) Governance and MDM processes
  • Defines global Master Data (MD) Standards and (global) insights on MD quality and supports continuous improvement of MDM and business processes
  • Together with the colleagues from the Data, Business Warehouse & Collaboration team, the GMDM leader is subject matter expert to execute the strategic projects initiated by Global Business Process Excellence


  • Drives, communicates and promotes the value of Master Data
  • Leads the implementation of the GMDM setup
  • Establishes hierarchy of responsibilities that provides and enhances the quality of data
  • Creates a GMDM organization and operating model
  • Provides overall vision, strategy and structure with respect to GMDM, which aligns to the global Archroma business process strategy
  • Ensures that the strategy is maintained and kept up to date
  • Advises on strategic direction of Archroma GMDM activities


  • Enables Archroma to reach maturing GMDM by supporting the implementation of GMDM standards
  • Set clear operational roles, tasks and responsibilities
  • Focused on essential processes: GMDM Processes, governance and controls, data migration & integration, data maintenance, data quality assurance & control, archiving
  • Provides documentation: model, descriptions and flow diagrams
  • Defines, prescribes and governs the use of standards, processes and governance based on industry standard methodologies and frameworks
  • Together with key business and other stakeholders, define the governance of data and the required standards process, as well as establishes and enforces data policies, standards, organization, and enforcement of GMDM business rules together with Process Owners

Content & Quality

  • Sets and monitor quality standards for master data and its attributes, such as metrics and KPIs
  • Enables that quality standards will be leveraged and applied throughout Archroma
  • Ensures that a security and compliance for data is defined that adheres to privacy laws, industry regulations, and corporate compliance mandates

System & Tooling

  • Selects with the business process owners, IT & enterprise architect, suitable IT systems that support governance, data quality and operational processes
  • Defines the data provisioning strategy and identifies source and target systems

The Successful GMDM Leader has:

  • Higher education degree in Computer Science; Business administration, economics, IT or equivalent background
  • At least 12-15 years of experience in global data management in a complex IT environment with many international stakeholders
  • Experience with GMDM governance and/or processes, standardization and implementation (SAP)
  • Excellent in aligning to business needs and change management with stakeholders
  • Ability to plan and manage master data related projects
  • Strong Communication, motivational and team management skills.
  • Fluent in English, written and oral communication
  • Significant international experience training end users/internal customers.
  • Strong business acumen – broad knowledge of business and functions a plus
  • Ability to coordinate, schedule and facilitate workshops with different functional areas
  • Integrated thinker: must understand integration requirements and potential impacts to the underlying business processes
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain logistics, procurement, finance, and customer service / CRM applications & business processes, and linkages across these application and process areas
  • Advanced working knowledge of SAP MDM and (MM, PP, APO-DP, APO PPDS, SNP) is required
  • Experience in SAP Hana implemenation an advanatage
  • Experience in reporting packages such as PowerBI an advantage
  • Chemical industry experience an advanatage


  • Role based in Reinach, Switzerland
  • Candidate must have valid work permit
