Enamel paint gives wood a glossy and durable finish which protects wooden furniture, windows, doors and other wooden objects from wear and tear.
Many wood paints and enamels are based on solvents to maximize the gloss effect. These solvents can have hazardous consequences to the health of the painter and have a strong unpleasant smell. Especially indoors this unpleasant smell that can linger for days and even weeks. Painters which use solvent-based paint on a regular basis have a higher rate of issues related to memory problems or nerve damage as well as a higher risk of cancer.
Archroma´s water-based more sustainable solution for wood Mowilith® LDM 6990 outperforms conventional solution-based enamels and varnishes based on alkyd resins. Its high durability ensures a longer lasting and stronger gloss effect while providing a longer lifetime to wooden objects. Due to it being a water-based alternative to solvents all solvent-based health risks are avoided with a pleasant side-effect of having little to no smell during the drying process.
