Wood with knots have always been difficult to work with in the wood molding industry. The knots can have a discoloration so strong it can seem black at times. This discoloration tends to show through most coatings and finishings making knotted wood unsuitable to work with wood molding applications. New trees need to be harvested not only to meet the rising demand in molded wood frames but also to compensate parts unsuited.

The water-based coating and finishing Archroma’s Mowiplus® WM 3000 has such a high opacity that knots in the base wood simply disappear under the durable and white layer. This ensures that a larger part of a tree can be used and reduces the overall need for new harvested trees.

Its solvent-free and water-based nature as well as the outstanding resistance to water and weather ensure that is optimized answer for indoor and outdoor wood molding frames.
