Brussels (Belgium) — 24/11/2020

TfS is a global procurement-driven initiative based on the UN Global Compact and Responsible Care® principles.

The increase of the total TfS membership to 29 multinational chemical companies underlines the growing importance for chemical producers to assess and improve the performance of their procurement operations and supply chains against a set of well defined environmental, social and governance criteria. TfS' current member companies are Advansix, Akzonobel, Archroma, Arkema, Azelis, Basf, Bayer, Borealis, Brenntag, Clariant, Corteva, Covestro, Dsm, Eastman, Evonik, Henkel, Icl, Iff, Kraton, Lanxess, Merck, Sanofi, Semperit, Sika, Solvay, Syngenta, Upm, Wacker, And Wanhua. They represent a global turnover in the chemical industry of €349 billion and a global spend of €227 billion

TfS President Bertrand Conquéret says in the release “I am very proud to welcome three new members to the TfS community. In line with TfS’ strategic priority, the growth and the diversity of our membership extends our reach and expands our collective impact on the sustainability performance of chemical supply chains. Given the challenging market environment, increased regulatory pressure and growing societal demand for transparency and accountability, TfS enables chemical companies to become more resilient while ensuring supply security and pro-active management of risk.

Andreas Wester, Chief Procurement Officer at Archroma confirms “As an industry leader, we have the responsibility to do everything we can to reduce our impact on the environment. This is why
we are very proud to work with TfS and its members towards fostering sustainable sourcing in our respective supply chains. This in turn allows us to offer safer and more sustainable solutions to our
customer for manufacturing daily-use products in areas such as e.g. textile & fashion, packaging & paper, and paint & construction."
