Biobased Chemistry Across the Value Chain

PERFORMANCE DAYS has named “Biobased Materials – From Fiber to Fabric” the Focus Topic for its October 2026 edition. Archroma is presenting solutions that bring biobased chemistry into the preparation, dyeing and finishing stages of that value chain.

• Fibre52® Bleach-and-Dye System

As Fibre52®’s global commercialization and technical partner, Archroma is bringing to PERFORMANCE DAYS a low-impact bleach-and-dye system that combines Fibre52®’s neutral-pH, caustic-free, low temperature bleaching technology and Archroma’s CYCLANON® XC-W washing off agent and AVITERA® SE reactive dye range, enabling mills to cut water use and CO₂ emissions by up to 50% in pretreatment and dyeing of cotton and cotton-polyester blends.

• FIBERCOLORS® from Wool Waste

FIBERCOLORS® dyes are synthesized with a minimum of 50% wool waste, upcycling unwanted fleeces that sheep farmers would otherwise pay to dispose of. The Archroma technology produces a palette of warm shades and delivers the same dyeing and fastness performance as conventional sulfur dyes on cellulosic fibers such as cotton, viscose, linen and bamboo.

• ZELAN™ R3 PFAS-free DWR

As Nicca Chemical’s exclusive textile industry distributor of ZELAN™, Archroma is highlighting the brand of non-fluorinated durable water repellents (DWRs) at the fair. The industry’s first renewably sourced DWR, containing 63% plant-based materials, ZELAN™ delivers excellent rain and stain protection and outstanding durability and breathability.

A leading trade fair curated for the performance textile community, PERFORMANCE DAYS is held twice a year to support seasonal sourcing of functional fabrics, accessories and footwear. More than 3,300 specialist visitors, including designers, product developers and material managers, are expected to attend the October 2026 edition in Munich, alongside online attendees from around the world.
