Our ULTRAPHOR® range of optical brightening agents are designed to deliver outstanding results on synthetic fibers, fabrics and finished garments, whether using continuous or exhaust processes or under low- or high-temperature conditions. They are suitable for recycled polyester.
The ULTRAPHOR® whitening agents enhance the brightness of synthetic fibers and blends. With shade flexibility, they allow customization to achieve the whiteness and shade you need, with high fastness. Offering high thermal stability, they are suitable for high-temperature processes. ULTRAPHOR® also provide level whitening and consistent results, making them ideal for a range of applications—from sportswear and athleisure to uniforms, children’s wear and fashion apparel, automotive and outdoor textiles and carpets.
ULTRAPHOR® optical brighteners are specifically designed for polyester, including recycled polyester (rPET). Their high-affinity properties help achieve consistent whiteness on this challenging substrate, while bluish-tone formulations like ULTRAPHOR® ETB effectively neutralize yellow tones. ULTRAPHOR® products are also thermally stable, making them suitable for the high-temperature processes involved in rPET production and processing.
Supercritical carbon dioxide dyeing—which replaces water with CO2 as the dyeing medium—offers environmental benefits for dyeing polyester and other synthetic fibers. However, traditional optical brightening agents do not readily dissolve in CO2, leading to duller shades. ULTRAPHOR® formulations are designed to be soluble in supercritical CO2. With high thermal stability, high affinity and high exhaustion rates, they ensure effective brightening with less product and less waste.
The ULTRAPHOR® brighteners are engineered for high exhaustion rates to help minimize effluent load. All are compliant with ZDHC—providing they are used as recommended.
