EarthColors®
- Patented dyes from non-edible natural waste for cellulosic fibers
Archroma’s patented technology for creating warm shades from nature, EarthColors® synthesizes high-performance dyes from non-edible waste from the agricultural or herbal industries, such as leaves and nutshells.
Deep, natural shades, with fixation and fastness similar to conventional sulfur dyes. This means end-products will look and perform like classic colored denim.
Unlike conventional synthetic dyes, EarthColors® are not petroleum based. They thus help reduce the industry’s negative impact on water and natural resources. Plus, they use non-edible natural products, leaving the edible part for food consumption.
Our bio-waste-based EarthColors® dyes contribute to a circular economy by upcycling waste from other industries and by producing garments that can be recycled or composted in a safe and efficient way.
The waste products are fully traceable. EarthColors® dyes comply with globally accepted standards like bluesign®, the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), Cradle to Cradle Certified® and Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC).
